Check out our Coworking Glossary and be prepared to know all about the benefits of coworking for your next conversation.

What is Coworking?

Coworking is a great way for professionals to come together in a shared space and work independently on their projects, in the company of others. It’s different to a typical office space because people generally are not working for the same company or business.

The Epping Connection offers a lot of the same amenities you will find in a typical office space. The key difference is that everyone using a coworking space has access to flexible hot desks and bookable meeting rooms. If you want to have a hot desk to work from one day a month or every day of the month, we have options to support that flexibility.

Importantly, our members are not tied into lengthy lease contracts. If you only want to use us for one day, or four months - you will find the right option for you!

Benefits of Coworking Spaces

Community feeling

Coworking allows you to work in a shared space with others, meet with other business owners and create a community where you are welcomed. We know each other’s names and build friendships!

Networking

Part of being in a shared coworking space means you naturally have opportunities to expand your network and create new business opportunities.

Security

The Epping Connection can only be accessed by members, so you know you can bring your kit and leave it on the desk without worrying about security. We also have offer lockers!

Flexibility

It’s really helpful for independent professionals to know they aren’t tied to contracts and that they can use the space on their terms with flexible opening hours.

Productivity

When you work with others from various backgrounds you are exposed to different perspectives. The quiet and inspiring environment allows you to be more productive.

Getting out of home

Having a separate working and living space will ultimately benefit your work-life balance. Being away from the distractions of a home will allow you to thrive!

Who uses coworking spaces?

Typically, freelancers and remote workers are drawn to coworking spaces as they are typically working for a range of clients and need to have somewhere to regularly commit to working from which doesn’t involve them working from home, having to commute, or use a coffee shop.

It’s also ideal for working parents who want to have a break from their home environment and want the flexibility of using a space during hours that suit them. If you can only use the space from 10am-2pm, that is completely fine.

Small business owners can really benefit from using coworking spaces if they’ve got a small team, but don’t want to hire an office permanently. Occupying a few hot desks gives them the flexibility to work as a team, or come and go without worrying about a long-term lease. But really, coworking spaces are for everyone!
